TMR () brings a lot of functionality for guns like resting - although it is at present completely OP. TFR () is now a pretty workable kit for radios over TS in MP.

IS that regarding the old version with the tabs along the top and the arcane ways of configuring things or the new version with thabs down the left (for game, mods, mission) and the really friggin easy to configure options and mod groups? I Hated the old version and love the new one. It's not overly intuitive tho, so takes some getting used to I suppose. Hehe, lotsa a people complain about pws, be it the GUI or errors or whatnot. It says a lot about the game in its current form though that all of the map makers are relying on ArmA 2 objects from A3MP rather than using what BIS provided with A3. I use ArmA3Sync for my group which is a million times more accessible and useable, and also the only reliable way to host an add-on repository for an arma group. I don't know where Sickboy has been getting his feedback from since about the mid-life of Six Updater for A2 but the interface and useability has gone downhill since (i.e. Major problem with that is actually using PwS. Only thing missing are newer builings that can be entered, which is the one and only good thing on Altis. However, with the newly upgraded Chernarus, I no longer miss a proper new lush green map, because Chernarus, Takistan, Namalsk, Everon, Panthera, to name a few, all look so very very pretty now.

I only wish we had a location that was green and dense (a new chernarus please) and not empty and full of sand.

#ARMA 3 SYNC REALLY SLOW A3L SIMULATOR#
Until someone else decides to make an infantry simulator rather than 'tacticool Fps' i will be glad for what we have. And I usually fly the Apache, while on the ground I use an HK417 or M24.įor all its negatives there is nothing else that can come close to competing with it. I haven't played on Altis or Stratis for a couple months now, and have no intention of going back. However, I have this sneaking suspicion BIS knew the modders would fix all that for them, which they have. Occasionally I find myself stopping to enjoy the view.Īs for vehicles and setting, I couldn't agree more. While it's hard to disagree with much of this, the engine and the weather systems still look damned pretty. Hopefully for A4 they decide to make a clean break from all their old design baggage. Their scripting engine is slow as shit, outdated, and unfortunately running all their AI. It's a godawful mess and bass-ackwards design is everywhere. I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but BIS needs to shitcan the whole engine. A squad of soldiers with all the latest kit vs a platoon of light riflemen with outdated rifles and a few grenades could be a really neat engagement. It would be really interesting to play out adversarial scenarios where one side had a distinctive tech advantage, and the other a manpower advantage. And honestly, I'm a bit bummed that they didn't include that whole range of technology. And there are still places that operate T-34s and M4 Shermans, albeit in vanishingly small numbers. I doubt the AK-47 is just going to evaporate in the next decade. Of course, there's also the larger problem that they haven't included the rest of the useful shit that's been hanging around forever and -will- be hanging around forever and likely to be in many future conflicts. Ironically, the only futuristic elements they did add are all non-diegetic, and are things such as HUD overlays locating hostile/friendly targets, which the FCS was supposed to bring to the table with network-centric warfare. If they're going to set it a decade and change into the future they could easily throw in neat toys like IR laser sniper detection (Mirage 1200 () for example.), smart rifles like the TrackPoint, Switchblade UAV/missile combos, Adaptiv IR camo, semi-autonomous/autonomous gun turrets, self-healing minefields, smart top attack mines, etc. Even stuff that's on battlefield deployment today like vehicular/personal shot detectors or the XM-25 smart grenade launcher. We haven't actually gotten any of the near future tech that would be fucking awesome. Hopefully for A4 they decide to make a clean break from all their old design baggage.Īlso, the problem with the 2035 shit is that it's not actually 2035 gear.
